Description

 The T218 is a Single-Mode Fiber Bragg Gratings (FBG) based Strain Rosette with Self-Temperature Compensation for use in environments from -40°C to +120°C.

Ultra-small packaging. Available in a wide range of optical specifications. Ready for direct mounting steel construction exhibiting excellent wavelength to strain linearity. Temperature compensated. Calibration service available upon request. The optional sensor calibration datasheet takes into account any hysteresis, non-linearities, and the repeatability of the sensor. The T218 sensor handling and installation is fast, easy and intuitive. Delivers the advantages inherent to FBG based sensors. Immune to lightning and electromagnetic interference (EMI). T218 series Strain Rosette Sensors are fabricated using licensed and proprietary state-of-the-art laser manufacturing technologies and product designs. The sensor packaging described herein represents the most popular configuration and can be customized.

Key Features

True-Center Tri-Axial Strain with self-temperature compensation. The T218 strain rosette sensor design ensures that all three strain axes are measured exactly at the center of the sensor. It accomplishes this, and temperature compensation, with an internal array of four Technica precision manufactured FBGs, all routed within the structure of the sensor to pass through the center of the rosette. The T218 transducer configuration offers high linearity and resolution.

Spot-welded or glued installation. The T218 is designed to be surface mounted by spot-welding, or by gluing, to the target surfaces. Installation video available upon request.

Pre-Strain level is set at the factory. The T218 pre-strain level can be factory set to accommodate any strain range within the strain limits of -5,000ue to +5,000ue. Typically set for the whole range.

Small size and ready to be daisy chained. The T218 is designed for precisely measuring strains in small or confined spaces and it is manufactured with ultra-low bend radius fiber for meeting the needs of even the most demanding fiber routing applications. Well suited for projects that include the need to monitor multi-axial surface strain at one or many locations. Provided as single connectorized sensors or in ready to install arrays of various lengths and with a flexible number of sensors.
